Donna moved up to lie next to me on the bed, and I lay panting into her shoulder. When I had fully recovered, I looked up to her, and she bent down to kiss me. We kissed for a minute, but I was so tired I fell back down almost immediately.
"Sleep well Lisa," she whispered into my ear.
I fell asleep entangled with her. My arms holding her close, her arms wrapped around me. I wasn't aware when she pulled the blanket up around us, or when the sun came through the bedroom window the next morning. I slept peacefully, entwined as I was, with new possibilities and a newfound joy.
