Valkyrie Lost

After meeting all of these wonderful creatures, Lindsey leaned over and whispered in my ear, "Angela and I have something to ask you, would you come with us please." She took my hand and led me to a quiet corner of the hall where we were joined by Angela. They each took one of my hands and held it softly as Lindsey spoke, "Sarah, we would be so happy if you would join our family."

Somewhat overwhelmed and in shock, I looked back and forth between the two pixies and before I could even think, the words were out of my mouth. "I would be honored."

Their faces lit up and we all hugged and they each kissed me softly before we turned and returned to the crowd. Lindsey led us to a spot next to the fireplace and stood, waiting for the assembled friends and family to quiet and turn to face her. The chatter in the room died down quickly and everyone turned expectantly to face us.

Lindsey began in a sweet and caring voice, "I would like to thank all of you for visiting today to meet Sarah and welcome her. While I wish that Sarah could have come to us under more pleasant circumstances, we are so happy that she has come into our lives." Lindsey turned and took me in her arms, holding me tight as tears built in her eyes.

Her arm still around my waist, she turned back to the crowd and continued, "We have asked Sarah to become a member of Clan Fae, and she has accepted."

Smiles and applause erupted throughout the room and the members of Clan Fae all stepped forward. Each hugged and kissed me before forming a semi-circle around Lindsey and me. Taking my hands and facing me, Lindsey looked deep into my eyes and spoke, "Sarah, is it your intention to join Clan Fae as a member of our family?"

"Yes, it is," I responded, nodding.

Smiling, Lindsey continued, "We welcome you with every fiber of our being and our hearts." Lindsey's eyes lowered and closed, then opened again and the soft blue-grey had been replaced with deep crimson and her fangs had extended, glimmering in the firelight. Out of the corner of my eyes I could see faces alight with anticipation and several in the assembled crowd were transforming as well.

Leaning forward, Lindsey sunk her fangs deep into my neck. The pain was sharp, yet exquisite and I felt my body warm as my essence flowed to her. A drop of blood ran escaped the corner of her mouth and dripped down onto my breast, running slowly into my cleavage. She pulled back slowly, a soft moan of pleasure escaping her lips as her tongue extended and quickly healed the bite marks on my neck. "Mo chridhe gu do chridhe. mo fhuil dhuitse, do fhuil dhomh (My heart to your heart. my blood to you, your blood to me)," Lindsey said softly.

Next, she lifted her wrist to her mouth and opened a gash before pressing her wrist to my lips. I sucked in her blood, a sweet coppery taste crossing my tongue as I felt an enormous surge of power through my entire being. She quickly moved her wrist away, the power of her blood could be overwhelming, and used her tongue to heal her wrist.

Throughout the room a sense of power and lust was obvious as the many vampires in the room inhaled the scent of blood.

"Aon uair 's gu Fae, Always a Fae. Aon uair 's gum bi Teaghlach Teaghlaich an-còmhnaidh (Once a Fae, Always a Fae. Once Family Always Family)," Lindsey whispered to me.

Lindsey's hand reached inside her robe and withdrew holding a petite dagger, given to her by her adopted mother, the goddess Abnoba. "Abnoba, beannaich an ball ùr den teaghlach againn, gun dìon sinn i, gu bheil i ga dìon (Abnoba, bless this new member of our family, that we protect her, that she protect us)," she said as her hand moved to my left breast, over my heart, and traced the house crest of Clan Fae. The dagger glowed green as it sliced through my skin, leaving a glowing green crest forever on my breast.

Pulling the dagger back and kissing it, Lindsey slid it back into its sheath beneath her robe. She pulled me close to her and into a warm embrace, whispering in my ear, "Welcome to Clan Fae my Love." The room erupted with applause and congratulations. From all around I was hugged and kissed. Members of all three families embraced and ale began to flow. Families were reminded of their bonds to each other and to their sister families. I wanted to cry in joy and love, but I had vowed never to shed a tear until I had revenged the betrayal of Andrea and my beloved sisters.

The festivities continued for several hours. Ale flowed freely and bottles of blood wine were brought up from the cellar along with wonderful food. At different times vampires could be seen feeding on guests of the party, often bringing them to explosive orgasm as they fed. On a couch a water nymph wearing a collar was on her knees between the legs of her mistress. As her mistress came, the nymph seemed to glow as if she fed off the energy of her mistress's orgasm.

As they always do, the party began to wind down as the guests said their goodnights and headed out into the dark night. Often as they left, I noticed flashes as they entered portals that took them to where I don't know. For centuries I had traveled the realms and thought there was nothing that could surprise me. But a few days here had brought about so many new and shocking surprises.

I could hear a sudden commotion behind me and when I turned, I saw the remaining guests dropping to their knees as a beautiful pixie moved gracefully into the room. Lindsey moved to my side and took my hand, whispering to me, "This is Queen Willa." She dropped to her knee and lowered her head as her Queen approached. Standing beside Lindsey as Queen Willa approached, I smiled.

"Rise Commander," the Queen said as she reached Lindsey, turning and smiling at me, "Is this the mighty warrior you sent me word of?"

"Yes, my Queen, this is Sarah, Sergeant of Legion D of Goddess Freya's Valkyries. As strong and loyal warrior as you will find anywhere in the realms," Lindsey said as the remaining guests gathered around us.

Reaching out and taking my hands, Queen Willa said, "It is wonderful to have you here with us. The stories of your legions are told with great reverence throughout Midguard. It is an honor to finally meet one of the great winged warriors we have heard so much about." Her voice softened as she continued, "I am so sorry to hear of the horrific events that brought you here. As a member of Clan Fae, we will all do anything we can to protect you and help you avenge your sisters."

Straightening, I assumed a posture of strength as I said, "Thank you for your kind words Your Highness and please know that you and Lindsey have my undying loyalty."

"Sarah, I have a favor I would ask of you if I may," said the Queen, looking in my eyes.

Without hesitation I responded, "Anything you ask your Highness."

"I ask that you allow me to Knight you into my Royal Guard. Your power as a warrior would be a great asset to Commander McGill."

"It would be my honor your highness," I said.

Smiling, the Queen squeezed my hands and asked me for my sword. I reached over my shoulder and drew my sword from between my wings, turning it handle first and handing it to her. Taking the sword in both hands she looked at me and said, "Kneel, Sarah, Sergeant of Legion D of Goddess Freya's Valkyries."

I dropped to my knee and lowered my head respectfully as the Queen held the great sword in front of her. Looking down at me the Queen spoke, "Sarah, do you swear your loyalty to Castle McGill and to Lindsey as your Commander?"

Looking up, I responded, "Yes, My Queen, I swear my loyalty."

The queen lowered the blade of my sword onto my left shoulder, then lifted it and lowered it onto my right shoulder. "Arise, Lady Sarah of the Queens Royal Guard."

As I rose, she turned my sword and handed it back to me. As my hands wrapped around the hilt of my sword, Lindsey and Angela's hands wrapped around mine and they smiled, welcoming me into the Royal Guard.

Smiling, the Queen turned to the room and said, "Please join me in welcoming Lady Sarah to the ranks of the Royal Guard. Now, if you all will excuse me, I must return to court. Have a wonderful night." With that she turned and flowed back out of the hall, a flash erupting as she entered a portal and was gone.

And with that I came to live at Fae Lodge with my loving family. Where this story goes from here, only the gods know, but I have my suspicions that there is more to it than we know now.
