It was amazing; I felt no pain whatsoever! Nor was there any of that desperate longing I had felt when this first started to fall apart. As I examined my feelings, I realized that it really might be a good time to start dating again, and that the only way to do this right was to explain this all to "Mom". So I stepped forward, wrapped her in my arms, gave her a heart-felt hug, and commenced with my explanation.

"Mom," I said, "I'm sorry that Vanessa's marriage didn't last. I'm also terribly sorry that she's now realized that what we had was something special and worthwhile – or, as you said, that I was the best thing that ever happened to her."

"Mom's" face was clouding, she didn't know for certain where this was going to go, but she had a distinct idea that she wasn't going to like it very much. I was too far along, however, to stop myself now; I had to say this, to get it off my chest and out in the open once and for all.

"Sadly, there is no way I could ever see myself trusting Vanessa again," I continued. "What she did was callous, deceitful and so devoid of consideration for anyone but herself that my entire view of her has been irretrievably effected. I love you, I love April, and I love the Vanessa that I thought I had…the reality, however, I will gladly do without."

And with a last kiss on "Mom's" cheek, I restarted my life in earnest.

I find it typical that people like to make comments so ugly and demeaning while remaining anonymous.i liked the story. To me it could be something that could possibly be realistic. I had a few close relationships that put me in a similar situation. It hurts for a while but all you can do is try not to let it happen again. I just moved on maybe to slowly but learned that no matter how much you want to you can't make a relationship work after a brake up as this was on her part. She lead him on while staying in touch with her ex. He should have gotten his things back right away. I think it was only fair to ask her for the ring back or for her to reimburse him for the cost any any deposits made towards the marriage. She was cold hearted in the way she handled this not caring about his feelings at all. Not even an apology but actually calling him a bastard WOW. He's better of with out her.

I miss not getting the gratifying insight to how Vanessa responded to the MC final comments, but it was a good story based in what I think would be a real life response to the situation. You just can’t kill, sell to a Mexican whorehouse, send to jail, destroy the life of every cheating/unfaithful partner. While it’s fun/gratifying to read the Super-BTB stories, sometimes a real world ending is enjoyable to read too!

Guess he can thank his lucky stars that their wedding didn't go through. Better that he found out what a bitch she was before marrying her. Kind of like a kick to the nuts, hurts like hell for a while but you get over it eventually. Don't know what world Mom lived in, but thinking he would take the cunt back was just too delusional on her part.
