One tentacle strangled the wizard, Menos while two more grasped his hands. The rest of the tentacles squeezed and beat the life out of the men as Kalimas ripped through some bodies, trying to reach his son.
Ailis saw Jonal trying to reach for the door and she shot two magic missiles at him which sent him sprawling. Soon after, his father leapt on him and shred his neck with thick claws. The Red Lion went hysterical in his rage, he grabbed one man's head and forcibly crushed it against the wall, painting it red. His slash returned in frenzy as he tore at any man he could reach.
One man, Chanlain surprised Ailis as he swung at her with his blade, but a tentacle whipped him aside and proceeded to strangle him. The blade flew from his hand and bit into Ailis's shoulder. She huddled in a corner and she watched enthralled as the tentacles did their work. Her shoulder throbbed and her hand snuck down under her skirt.
Those long arms of darkness writhed like sexual phalluses of demons, both as instruments of death and carnal pleasures. They were sleek, flexile and pulsing with muscle. Temptation was playing a wicked game with Ailis as those tentacles thrashed violently about her. She wondered how great it would feel to have those strong things in her. She orgasmed as everyone else died around her save for her grandfather and Sharon, though they both looked near death themselves. The tentacles slowly receded and the port-holes disappeared.
Get a hold of yourself girl, goodness! What has gotten into you? Ailis wondered before shrugging it off and went to check on Sharon's unconscious form. She took off her cloak and covered the woman. Then she went to her grandfather who was slumped against the wall with several wounds on his body.
"Are you alright sir?"
"Who are you?" he struggled to ask.
Ailis thought about what Firfel had said in the note and whether or not revealing her relationship to her grandfather would be a good or bad thing.
"I'm someone sent to make sure you are alive."
He coughed some blood before saying, "Alive? What do you need me alive for? I've lost everything. I've killed my followers, my son and I sent my wife through hell. How can I possibly live?"
"You owe it to her to make sure she finds happiness again. As for why you are needed alive, well, I'm not so sure myself except that you wield powers that you should take responsibility for."
"You! You're the one who opened the Gate of Eureshnah? Just who are you?"
"I don't know how I did it; I was hoping you could answer me."
"Then it seems I still have much to do before I leave this world."
Later that night a team came to clean up the mess and took the survivors to the Temple of Mora-Taika. After receiving medical aid, Ailis was so exhausted she slept like a baby. A soft shuffling sound woke her up.
"I'm sorry," a demure woman said, "I was just bringing you your soup. Please, have your breakfast; the cleric said that it's good for your wounds." Then she went to open the curtains.
It was bright outside; her room looked to be several feet above ground. It was a large room too, with expensive furnishings. Ailis ate while the pretty maid insisted on feeding her. She felt uncomfortable, but she didn't protest. She rather enjoyed the luxury, but her mind went back to last night's horror. Guilt, she thought. The best thing she could do is find a way to ease Sharon's suffering. And to kill two birds with one stone, Ailis would need to find a way to use that to make Kalimus reveal the key for the Gate of Erueshnah.
"Okay, now you need a bath," the maid said as she helped Ailis up.
The last time Ailis remembered someone taking a bath for her was when she was five and it was her mother. Now it was awkward as she was undressed and led into the hot tub. The sweet scent of wild flowers washed her as she sank in the nourishing water. Her mind was at peace in this moment as soft caresses ran along her upper body. Ailis relaxed her eye lids and thought of being a monarch.
Arcane prowess coupled with political influence and an army under her command, it was far-fetched, but once she grasped the powers of Erueshnah, it would be much closer. And still, there were the opportunities Firfel mentioned, she would have to see what he has to offer. Hmmm, I am a whole new person after all.
