Waking Abby

He flipped on the light. There she sat, perched on the countertop, wearing one of his dress shirts. "Hope you don't mind," she said softly, "I really needed a bath".

He walked to her, gently brushing back her wet hair, tilting her head up to gaze into her eyes. "I love you, Abby," he breathed. Tears came to her eyes as she reached for him, his lips coming to hers, pressing with the longing they both felt, the healing they both needed.
