Darkness turned to stare at me on the floor. I wondered vaguely what the first floor of the hospital looked like outside the stairwell, and if I would be visiting it soon. Then, she snorted. "You're an idiot, Cole," she said, dragging me the rest of the way to my room. When we reached my bed, I tried blinking at her seductively again, but even my eyelids seemed to be letting me down at that point. I tried telling her that had never happened to me before, but she just flung me by my arm onto the bed, back into my broken body. I felt something real seeping back into me, calling me back to the 8th Floor from wherever I had been fading. Darkness Girl had a point, I had to admit. I was an idiot. Even so, we're on a first name basis now, I thought, smiling as I drifted off to sleep. I still had it.

If anyone has ideas on a better category for this series, I welcome your thoughts! It moves around through a lot of categories, SciFi/Fantasy being the only consistent one. Categorization is tough.
Anonymous9 months agoYeah, so the violence and rape... At bare fucking minimum, put a warning about it at the start of the chapter. Better yet, keep that crap in the category where they enjoy it.
