What Kind of Party is it? Alternate Take

Now I spoke up. "What do you think Kelly, -you always said I looked a bit like Mel Gibson. Now I can."

Kelly finally stopped sobbing. "John ...how.. How can you do this... to me ... to us...It was only one night...I..."

"SCREW That!" I spat back. "One night! One night! How about the weeks I had to use a stool softener just to take a dump, because I was shitting razor blades! What about sweating out HIV and other STD tests every 3 months! Not to mention the Hep C tests and other host of crap I could have been exposed to! You cannot be that clueless a moron. Well now you Lisa and Eric can live out your kinks in prison. I hear they have lots of your kind of entertainment there."

I turned to look at the attorney sitting next to me. "Are we done here? Looking at this group makes me want to hurl."

She nodded and we got up from the table. I heard Lisa curse, Kelly started crying again. I never even looked back as the guard opened the gate and we walked out...

Many years have passed. I now live in a modest home in a midsize southwest city suburb with my wife and three wonderful kids. My own deceased mother would not recognize me, as the surgery made me look a different person, 10 years younger. My "take" from the ordeal was almost $3 million, -Tax free. You would never know it from our lifestyle. I have invested conservatively, we live a middle class existence, getting a new midsize car every few years, and take simple vacations. The kids are in public school, with funds set-up for their college, in addition to trusts for later in their life. I make sure local organizations get a cashier check from an unknown donor whenever the school needs something, or the little league requires new uniforms. So far not much of the principle of the $3 million has been used. I keep to myself, our circle of friends believe I work from home having something to do with the internet.

The Fed lawyer did become a media darling and is in her second term as Governor. She was true to her word and almost all the people from dancers to the webmaster got long jail terms. No one involved got any slack, the plea deals were almost as long as the max trial sentences would have been. Her personal appearance at Eric, Lisa and Kelly's parole hearings scuttled any chance they had of early parole- even after a decade in the Federal Pen. Of course it brought the former Federal Lawyer back into the spotlight again as a real "Law & Order" candidate. I think she is looking for a senate seat next election. Naturally her campaign always gets a sizeable donation from me-anonymous of course.

What would have happened had I left the club that night? Would Kelly have left with me? I guess I will never know, now I do not even care.
