Some words from Fortunata: | |
I began reading adult stories on the internet in the 90s. I began writing adult stories back in 1995, because I thought, ?Hey, I can do better than that.? That?s not to say there aren?t many good amateur writers out there. I was just frustrated by tales that had a good idea behind them, but were poorly constructed and confused the reader by a lack of continuity. Still, I didn?t post any of my own stories, until after the death of my wife, in 2008. I chose to post them on Literotica, because they seemed to be serious about meeting standards of common sense, with regard to the content they will allow. After all, even in the environment of bizarre tales, there must be boundaries and an adherence to the law. Since then, I tried to write a little each day, but that didn?t work very well. I can?t speak for other authors, but I find that in order to get the tale written, I have to push through for five to ten hours at a time. In doing so, I concentrate more on the details and character development. Also, it helps me to maintain the flow of the story. It?s troublesome for a person to read how Mary took off her bra, when the author had previously stated that she wasn?t wearing underwear. I endeavor to avoid such frustrations for my readers. My problem is that I write, as I speak, by giving too much detail and drifting away from the core topic. However, I like stories, not just scenes of a sexual nature, but the why and wherefore of the character?s thinking. It seems to provide a more believable plot line that way. I prefer a tale with a beginning, a middle and an end. Unlike real life, they aren?t open ended and too full of complications. Feedback, when I get it, is taken seriously by me; but not so much so that I become disheartened by criticism or overly elated by praise. At my age, I?ve learned to keep my ego in check, although I do have one; so I appreciate the compliments I do receive. I am far from a linguistic pro, so when someone points out my grammatical errors, I really am thankful and try not to repeat the mistake. When a reader requests a return reply from me, I always respond. It may get a bit long winded, but I answer all E-mail. I don?t do follow ups, unless I receive another message requiring more of an answer to a specific query. I don?t want my readers to think that I?m going to chase them around the internet. So, in order to not be rude, I generally leave them alone after one response. Please feel free to E-mail me and I?ll get back to you. |
