| Some words from bobert2924: | |
My first kiss... Her name was Susan. She was as tall as me and thin. Her breasts were little cupcakes. Her hair was like black silk and she smiled with full, red Sicilian lips. I thought see was beautiful. She would visit her Grandmother for the summer and we were both eleven years old. I first noticed her two summers before and I would always seem to find a reason to walk the three blocks to pass her yard. Sometimes she would be outside and we would shyly smile at each other, way to shy to speak. It came to be the eleventh year of our lives on that very hot summer when we first spoke to each other and the shyness became friendship. How nice it was to walk together on a summer afternoon talking and looking for some kind of mischief to get into. She turned out to be a regular tom boy and we would sneak into other gardens and pick peaches and pears from the trees and eat so many we would get sick. We'd sit across from each other and laugh, both of us green faced. But, it was what happened at the very end of that very summer that has stayed in my memory as vivid as yesterday. It was dusk on the last day. Tomorrow Susan would be leaving her Grandmothers and going back to the city with her parents. We were in front of my house, standing awkwardly in front of each other. I told her I would miss her and was embarrassed. I know my face turned red. I felt something like butterflies take over my belly when she said she would miss me too. We became very quiet just looking at each other. The day became even quieter and it did seem like time stopped for those few minutes. Minutes that felt like hours or years, just timeless. Then it happened. She leaned towards me, I leaned towards her and, OH yes, yes, yes, our lips met. The first time for me, the first time for her. The day, the place, the world, meant nothing else but! Our lips were closed but I still remember how soft hers were, and warm. I felt her breath through her nose. I tasted her scent deep inside and felt her live. I still remember how weak I became, like in a dream, faint but yet so full of excitement. No other words were spoken, then she turned and walked back to her Grandmothers. I stood alone as still as a rock, a rock that was shaking and melting and I watched her walk away. I don’t remember walking into my house. I don’t remember anything else of that day but the kiss, and the warm glow of electricity my body felt and how she walked and then disappeared around the corner. Her parents moved that following year to another state and I moved a few years later. We never saw each other again but that one kiss, my first, will remain on my lips until I close my eyes for the last time. | |
