Some words from HandsInTheDark:

The blue image is a detail from a computer generated "watercolor" of flowers. I like it because I created it and the software I wrote to generate it wasn't intended to create flowers. My stories are that way as well; they don't always come out as I expect.

I write complicated, flawed characters with realistic personalities. None of them speak for me and none of them represent an ideal anything.

My stories explore the boundaries between submission, reluctance and non-consent. As such they don't exactly fit established categories and you should not ask them to.

Some of the male characters are deeply evil (Toymaker, Captured Princess), some are amoral but likable (Becoming Marie, Drug Trial), and none of them made it through Sunday school. They generally get their girl (with some notable exceptions) by force of will. When romance makes an appearance, it's often late in the story, and a surprise to one or more characters. In short, if you are looking candy and flowers, I'm not your guy. Some of my characters ask readers to puzzle over why Wrong can also be Hot. Note my stories vary considerably; you might love one and hate another.

If you're going to invest the time into reading my stories, I'd recommend not stopping with the first chapter of anything. At first glance, many of my characters are off-putting; but many of them change, or at least guardedly self-reveal, over time. Yes, there will be people who just don't like the themes of my stories and will have good reason to bail out early, but give the characters themselves a chance. The Gladgrinds and Clarissas and Tirs of my stories are not as simple as they first appear. I don't write sex stories; I write stories about people who happen to become very, very sexual. If you have no patience with plot or character development, other authors will suit you better and there are plenty of that sort here. I write stories that you can curl up with, with a cup of tea, and if you're being honest, a vibrator and a box of tissues.

Some of my stories - currently, Becoming Marie, Drug Trial, Why I Love My Job and The Captured Princess - are set in a common universe, though they span a few centuries and don't share characters.

Toymaker is erotic horror. The main character is not nice. I'll understand if you bail out of that one. If you make it through, your reward is that you get to read and understand Angelwatch, which is a very different kind of story.

To answer some questions that come up in my email. No, I didn't like either Gor or 50 Shades of Grey. Yes, I really am male and thank you for not being sure, because that means I'm doing a good job writing female characters.

No, I will not be your online Dom. At least not unless you're 18-30, bright, beautiful and not especially camera shy; and if you have all that going for you you have better options than anything online.

My favorite character is Windy; the most interesting character to write was Marcy; neither of them got sex scenes. All my characters are fictional, and names are generally chosen at random for baby name lists. All my characters are 18 or over. (This isn't because I don't belive that 16 year olds don't have lots and lots of sex; the site simply doesn't allow such stories so I don't write them.)

Please don't send me story ideas. I have enough of my own. On that topic, I do not write (and absolutely loathe) incest, bestiality (including furry), pedophilia, gay male sex, sparkly vampires, incredibly fake BSDM a la 50 Shades, or extreme pain.

Please note that I don't generally encourage correspondence, due to some unpleasant experiences with stalkers and hateful people here. There are people on Literotica who I suspect are certifiably psychotic, and I won't hesitate (and haven't hesitated) to contact either the site or the law if I get harassed. I'm a male living in the northeast US and that's as much as I'm likely to share with anyone here; please respect that. I'm not here to make friends, though it has happened.

Do not write to me if you are under 18.
