Words are power. Having the right language can help us to carve out our place in the world, whether that label be doctor, mother, slut, athlete, groupie or whatever, labels built communities and empower through solidarity. But at other time they limit us. Just because you identify as gay, that means that you're never ever allowed to sleep with someone of the opposite sex?
If cool, smart, nice, hot people come in all shapes, sizes, ages, races and genders, why should we assume ourselves some dumb label that will only inhibit us from tasting the rainbow?

I don't associate with movements - I think for myself. The moment someone attaches you to a philosophy or a movement, they then assign all of the baggage that goes with it. And when you want to have a conversation, they will assert that they already know everything important there is to know about you because of that association.
