Let's not talk about me, because that would be boring. Let's talk about my writing instead, which I assume is what you came here for, dear reader. Starry Starry Ride was written after I woke up at two in the morning with this crazy idea in my head. I couldn't sleep anymore, got up, and wrote until dawn. It happens. I hope you like the result. Intensive Care is by no means my best story. It was written well over two decades ago while I was recovering from a leg injury. Without the gutter my mind would be homeless, and it decided to play me a slutty nurse fantasy for which I have gotten some flak in the comments. Rest assured, dear reader, I am well aware of the regular apparel and professional ethics of health care professionals. This is a slutty nurse fantasy, nothing more. Brave New World totally ran away with me. One night I had this dream about a naked blond woman wearing golden glitter on her face, walking around in a garden under a glass dome with a black starry sky above. In the morning I wrote down a few notes which evolved into a plot outline. What happened next was the last thing I expected: more than two years and 115,000 words later this has grown into a multi-chapter short novel. It's the sort of thing I'd have liked to read, so I hope you liked it. I am currently revising the first story that I ever wrote, back in the early 1990's. It was published on Usenet in several separate parts, and not very good, because both my command of the English language and my writing skills were still rather rudimentary. The thing has been knocking around at the bottom of desk drawer (on a floppy disc) for about a quarter of a century. I've dusted it off and am currently fixing up its main flaws. I don't know when it will be ready, but it will be published here when that day arrives. Stay tuned. |
