Several people have inquired about a sequel for Sudden Moves. I have the Porter family resolution in mind, but I do not plan to write it.
In the published story, Mike has given Catherine permission to discretely take a lover while he (Mike) tries to get back into shape enough to stop taking meds that suppress his libido.
She continues her secret affair with Randy, and Mike - sensing that she is getting her relief elsewhere - hyper-focuses on his diet and exercise regimen. After about six months, he has become healthy enough to stop taking the meds. He eventually gets into good enough shape to go for runs with Catherine. His improved health brings energy enough to focus on her and their relationship. He shows he was serious about their life together. Eventually they even make love again.
Catherine never stopped loving Mike, and she will never stop loving Randy. While Mike will never be the lover Randy is, sex is only part of the equation. Ultimately, she wants the life she had with Mike, especially with the new healthy and attentive Mike.
After a long struggle on the issue (including conversations with Randy,) she decides to end the affair and return her marriage to its monogamous state.
Randy is also torn about this. He loves what they started, but he loves his father too and wishes the best for them both. It is Catherine's decision, and Randy must get on with his life.
No doubt there will be some strange thanksgiving dinners in their future, but they will each find their way.
I chose not to write the story as – while authentic to my vision – it would prove unsatisfying for most readers. Those who get bitter over infidelity will be irked at the lack of punishment for the cheaters. (I’m not into revenge.) Others will likely feel let down by the arc in general. Typically, these are stories about sexual buildup to an explosive resolution. This story is a sexual wind-down in pursuit of a more adult human life.
Even if I pepper the story with exciting sex scenes, I think that it will ultimately fall flat for Literotica readers. But it’s the only version that rings true for me.
