About me: I'm retired, with a professional background in mental health and therapeutic counselling. I've worked for a variety of organizations and voluntary agencies, including Victim Support and Mind.
I'm interested in many things, and enjoy friendly discussion on a broad range of topics. Areas of interest include: Philosophy, Theology, Human Rights, The Environment, and Psychotherapy.
I'm also interested in general conversation, reading, jazz (Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, etc.), rummaging around in junk shops, writing magazine articles, walking, keeping fit, making jewellery, playing poker (for pennies, not pounds), doing cryptic crossword puzzles, etc.
Just a brief note about language. As most educated Americans know, the word "Fanny" in the UK refers to vulva, pussy, cunt, etc, not arse, bum, posterior etc. So, to all the abusive and "anonymous" trolls with practically only half a brain cell to share between them, if you know what a dictionary is, I'd advise you to consult one.
