Writing for my own enjoyment, but I do share. Explaining the future of "Why" by explaining the past- "Why" began as an experiment, one that I'd never attempted before. Up until then, most of my satisfaction was derived from writing action stories. These were usually written within a backdrop of war. With a dollop of forgone love. It was my editor at the time, that urged me to try and write something different. Hence, "Why". However, it was her very unique editing abilities that gave the story, "Why", that special ambiance, giving it it's own brand of life. Sadly, to me, she passed away shortly after I'd submitted the next 4 chapters of the story, Why. She'd begun editing before her death, but was far from complete. Over the ensuing years I've tried to match the first chapter. I even rewrote entire subsequent chapters. All to no avail. I've tried a couple of other editors, but so far, they've been a no go. Will I keep trying? Maybe. I don't know. I wish I could. We shall see. |
