Born in Western, PA...Pittsburgh; was an educator for over ten years before becoming a writer and artist. Moved to Florida in 1980 where I lived until I hitched a 25ft Airstream travel trailer to cross the country to Lone Pine, CA, with the express purpose of climbing Mt Whitney, the highest peak in the Lower Forty-Eight at almost 15,000 feet. In addition to mountain climbing, I enjoy hiking, photography, sailing, kayaking/canoeing, and flying small aircraft when I get the chance.
