Born in Western, PA...Pittsburgh; was an educator for over ten years before becoming a writer and artist. Moved to Florida in 1980 where I lived until I hitched a 25ft Airstream travel trailer to cross the country to Lone Pine, CA, with the express purpose of climbing Mt Whitney, the highest peak in the Lower Forty-Eight at almost 15,000 feet. In addition to mountain climbing, I enjoy hiking, photography, sailing, kayaking/canoeing, and flying small aircraft when I get the chance. In between I love to travel, read, play my Irish whistles and Native Americanflutes.Favourite writer: Edna St. Vincent Millay.By the way, I am Irish and have been to Ireland, Scotland, and throughout the UK, covering over 10,000 miles, six times.
