While I'm still working on Complementing Morgan Pt 02, I got to a point where I felt like I was moving way too slowly, and needed to take a break from that story, and try writing something shorter/simpler before going back to it. CM has a bunch of really complex interactions/plot facets, and it's also really long. So, even when I finish part two (it will happen eventually, I promise), the whole thing won't really be done.

So, for the past month, I've been working on a story that will be complete in and of itself, and top out at about 20,000 words. It's set in the present day, and is completely separate from the world of CM. My working title is "Just Say No," and it will probably go in the Mind Control category. I currently have 12,500 of the total 20k for this story.

I want to publish a shorter story now because I want to prove that I'm still alive and writing, and it's helpful to feel like I can actually finish a story before going back to "the big one."

I completely understand the concern that I might abandon Complementing Morgan, given how many other authors here have done just that. I will therefore regularly update my author profile here with the latest status, at least once a month. I hope that this will help reassure people that I haven't disappeared, and I'm still working on this.
