I am a railwayhead. I was born under a railway bridge as a train passed. Now I am a train driver, but I cannot drive over bridges. I sleep in a shed by the side of the railway. The sound of trains is like the beating of my mother´s heart, and the cleansing of her liver, and the air within her lungs. I first turned to poetry to exorcise my terrible fear of sleepers, ticket inspectors and cast iron wheels. I sit in the buffet car when I should be driving the train. I light a fag and hope for the best. so far it´s all gone quite smoothly. tickety boo. but one day, I fear I will have a terrible crash. Oh well! never mind! such is life.
