On this site I've been coming across turns of phrases that may work their way into a family storytelling event, but somehow "banged her like a cheap wooden screen door" has yet to fit into any of my tales. My work hell is e-mail, heaven is my coaching non-traditional (aka "older" or "long absent") learners now needing to learn writing conventions (used to call them "mechanics") for high school and college. I don't mess with their creative efforts, and they appreciate acquiring skills that make their writing "reader friendly." It's time to get up and move. I have the re-use and recycle parts done, on to the reduce part, getting things boxed and out to where they will be put to proper use. Having wider paths makes it easier to de-dust-mite my house! |
