"Becoming Who We Are," a non-erotic novel I wrote several years ago, has been posted. A couple of characters in it also appear in the upcoming Year of Yes, along with a few others from other pieces set in my Pennsylvania universe.
I'm here because I love to write and read stories. I'm not interested in cybering, etc., although I am open to platonic friendships with readers and other writers.
I'm a former journalist and current writer of fiction and songs when I'm not paying the bills with my day job. My stories in all genres lean heavily towards romance because I'm a romantic at heart, but I hope to branch into other areas in 2021 because trying new formats and ideas strengthens my writing and improves all types of stories I tackle.
People ask sometimes how much of my stories or my characters come from my life. Like most writers, I draw on a lot of sources when I develop a character or a situation, but it's very rare to lift an event wholly from life and put it in a story. I write fiction, not autobiography.
That said, Andy in The Minister Takes a Break has a lot of me in him, and there's a scene late in the story that is very like something that happened in my own life. I am a little like Angela in Every Christmas Needs a Virgin (except I'm a good cook), and, like Stacy in Lofty Ambitions, I have been an itinerant church singer because of a former job. (Alas, I have never had sex with a hot music director in a choir loft, though.) My training in massage therapy formed the foundation for No Men to Love, and I drew on my time in Ohio to give Michelle Makes a Move its sense of place and my journalism background to flesh out Michelle's character. My years in Pennsylvania color the settings in So Many Kinds of Love, its sequel, The Unbucket List, and to a smaller degree, Miko's Mountain.
Bottom line, all my stories come from a place of love and friendship, set in a universe where good ultimately prevails and the risk of sexually transmitted diseases or pregnancy is low. My characters tend to be smart, sweet, funny/sarcastic and very interested in sex - this is an erotica site, after all. I have no interest in humiliation or degradation, and you will not find that in my writing.
I hope you will find pleasure in what I have offered here.
