I enjoy exploring facets of the human condition, the things that drive people into what they do. Emotions are always wrapped up in people's actions, and there's the place I like to play. I guess I'm a bit of a romantic, so my characters always have their feelings wrapped up as part of the package. Such fertile ground, so many things to explore and savor.
What good is my craft, I wonder, if the writer can't get his readers to feel something within themselves? If I can put my empathy with the characters I create, I see no reason why I shouldn't aim to draw a reader in there with me.
