I value each and every author's talent, whether or not it suits my taste. I think authors deserve the courtesy of being able to respond to comments - especially if they are negative. Realistically, once someone has read a story and posted a comment, how many will return to see if the author posted a response in the public comments? Not many, I would guess. Personally, having read a few thousand stories over the years, I couldn't possibly check them all for responses. So, authors: Feel free to contact me regarding any comments I may have left for your story. I am grateful to be able to read as much as I can from the overabundance of talent on this site.
