A bird flies overhead
the clouds hiding it from view
Maybe souls can fly lazily

feathers slowly spiralling down
parallel shifts in Time
Hold the tiny little creatures together
living in the cracks that slipped

a flower blooms slowly
takes seven years to open
carrion may eat it

slowly suffocating
when the sap rises in spring,

Incisions made drip the essence
reduced by many fold

its the sweetness on your lips
the nectar that rises and makes it possible
Hearts beat and wings flutter
Take the thought as high as that bird
lazily spiralling

Did He notice it was down to the dregs
that slime He spoke of
                       the sludge filling His mind
Once in
the bird could not leave
ever again
But      did it want to?
