conflagrations,
to light the Heart is a hard thing
why did you make it yours?
when you knew the solace
Why did the wind carry my song?
till the earth sang too
Why did your words enter my sleep
disturb the slumber and keep me awake
was it the notes you trilled,
was it the words you whispered?
No your thoughts slithered in
crept inside and twined around the steel bars enclosing me
Who amongst us is free?
Prisoners of our minds all
guttered and dank and dark
Take a light and see
who will be the one to claim
and take, sweep away the debris
Pasts are always done and never known
Yet again and again ,
I hear her refrain
sighing as willows when the wind ceases kissing My cheeks
Take Me aloft as I spy into your heart
Know your thoughts and make you Mine
Again
Sadness wafts through from both sides in the relationship
As neither is fulfilled.
I keep coming back to this one. I have been reading your poems for a while now, and I finally decided I would leave you a little comment about this one, because it was just that potent.
Elegance and artistry just radiated from this piece. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I read this one, I rad this twice. The message and heart of this particular poem does not seem to communicate with me. Still I read it again. Why? Because the sheer thrill of such perfectly carved lines, the elegans and grace in which you use words.
