Little Miss Spunky
came bouncing by today
to hay hello to me and my
seven months passengers
still hanging on
for a little while
longer

I thought I had lost
her spitoonie savvy smartass
short temper sexy swaggy smile
forever

but lose her?
that's not my call,
not my choice to make
at all

she bounces around
as she god damn wish
she's lost and she's found
and for one reason
or other...

...why bother?

today was the day
it is always like that
there is nothing to say
more than that
Little Miss Spunky
was back

I opened wide
watched her take aim
and bounced her
badass bubbly beauty
straight into my brain

~

Spunky took her usual seat
settled and stared in disdain
at two loudmouthed thugs
on the morning train

of course I had heard them
but bothered? not me.
"by god, she's enormous
how many can that be?"

Then snickered , too loud;
"but I sure wouldn't say no..."
and I lowered my gaze
and just wished they could go

so Spunky opened my mouth
and spit out her spiffy spunk;
"Yeah, well you just stay right there
and I'll ROLL OVER YA, PUNK!"

~

and then Spunky bounced
away like always
leaving me to clean her mess

apology already halfway
up my throat and forming
on my lips

when Little Miss Spunky
once again proved her worth
and before I could speak up

they did

well, barely

a scramble and mumble
and looking at shoes
a most humble apology
in offhand words
and schoolboy stances

before leaving at the next stop
where I just know for sure
they weren't supposed to

you rock, Spunky
welcome back anytime

~

Hehe

There change of meter and rhyme in the middle was a little unsettling, it should had worked better without it. But still: lol and lol again.
