Eagle's Cry

In the distance I hear'em cry.
The sound of sorrow that's deep inside.
The majestic EAGLE that flys so high.
Is not soaring in the sky.

The thunder bellows across a land.
For a captured and fellow AMERICAN.
The WARRIOR'S song is sung this day.
And may he come home in a safe way.

Feel his fear in hearts so near.
Dry the water'd eyes from the one he calls dear.
For HELL will shake when the EAGLE comes.
His enemies had better run.

Hear the cry of the EAGLE high.
For many more will surely die.
The frightening sound of a gun shot round.
To bring home one that's held and bound.

The code of WARRIORS is a strong one.
To do battle untill were done.
Sorrow filled hearts that still cry.
For the ones that have already died.

Who do I call the enemy.
FEAR and SORROW that is within me.
Listen well you foreign man.
The EAGLE is coming for our AMERICAN.

(I was moved deeply when writing this poem, but not to lose perspective that all sides suffer and that nobody wins a war.)
