Two hundred and thirty Marines that day,
Lost their lives because of cupidity.
The right to protect themselves was denied,
By Ronald Reagan's stupidity!

Beirut was a violent place then,
Murder and mayhem was common place.
The President refused them ammo,
What he did to them was a disgrace!

Ronald Reagan tried to cover up,
By invading the Granada Aisles.
Whenever Beirut was mentioned then,
Ronald Reagan would just grin and smile!

Ronald Reagan should have been impeached,
He was a diabolical fiend!
He got away with legal murder,
When he caused the deaths of those Marines!!

Fantastic

The simplicity conveys your meaning. Very well written tribute.

A very...

moving tribute to the Marines that lost their lives in Beirut. Now just look at Lebanon, its almost entirely controlled by Hezbollah while the Govt. hangs by a thread.

Nicely done poem, thanks.

In his ignorance, he didn't appreciate the existence of the early Hamas or the dictates of the culture. And certainly no one ever saw that which was coming; not even the commanders on the ground.

T'was ever so.

Since the beginning of time history has recorded the ineptness of the world leaders ~ just one more ancient leader who's now joined that innumerable caravan in the caverns of the dead.
