Mine
Rolled over, rolled under
Rolling, roiling, boiling , soiling
Girls. Boys never do that: all
Disguised and disgusted they’d
Rather be walls of flesh
Walls of steel and walls given
Way

Fields squishy underfoot, Mine
Said the rats burrowing through
The charred remains.

Layers crunchy underhand, Mine
Said the worms gnawing away

Heads buried in the ground, Mine
Said the maggots infesting

Maggie took them , one at a time

Hers,  she crooned, cradling the sway
Boughs lowered, face withdrawn,
Forms exposed and riven to His
Gaze, offered : Mine
Said He to the heavens and the
Butterflies flitting slowly.
