Drink the morning
with spectral eyes dawning
to fingerlings of day lily,
lupine, and the wild mouths
of birdsong, which grace us
with sips of knowing.

The secrets of world live here,
outside and within, alive
in the bed of your skin.

I greet the morrow,
whispering first prayers
on the sinew of your wrist.

Your thighs are timeless, drenched
in oceans of inscrutable biology
evolved across eons, miles,

blossoming here. Kisses flower
under the Sun.

Also...

....lovely. Don't want to do comparison to "Offering".... that wouldn't be fair to either. They are both precious.

This poet's larcenous heart...

...wants to steal these lines:

"and the wild mouths

of birdsong, which grace us

with sips of knowing"

The flavor of this piece is strong thoughout, with one small exception: "oceans of inscrutable biology" seems out of place with the balance of the poem.

Then again, I'm just an old dude given to bouts of opinion!

You make me

want to be madly in love.

~I greet the morrow,

whispering first prayers

on the sinew of your wrist.~

That is beautiful

Thank you
