Hi, I'm Chris.
Did you see
the sunrise through half-closed eyes
the steam rise
as the coffee entered the cup
Did you hear
all the old songs
they just have to play.

It doesn't take a mornin' person
to snuggle that extra half-minute.
I like to dance...
can carry a fair tune
outside the shower
and move with the music
that's inside,
to play
often tease - but with heart
not meanness,
to listen
to talk.

I read a bit
- am irreverent,
seldom politically correct
just
people concious.
I don't hurt another
to feel good,
don't like those that do.

Do you like to laugh
out loud
or just snicker
behind a self-aware hand.
I smile
with my eyes
not just my lips.

I've an old soul -
been round and around
again and again...
it's all in the eyes
you know -
mine and yours.
I ask hard questions -
already know the answers
to the easy ones.

Do you like subtle scents -
newly turned earth
fresh mown grass
the taste in a sea's breeze
as it touches your face.
I can cook -
really
from scratch -
its little things
that make the difference
little things I do
not because I have to.

I like a soft rain
the feel of drops touching
the sound and the echoes
its like - well...
you know what's its like -
what can I say that
you don't already know.

There is magic -
yes there is...
and some can weave
and touch
and be heard
and be seen
and even remembered.

A question.

What would happen if you moved the opening line to the end? I've asked the same questions, and bemoaned the same lines far too many times to want to remember.

Still, thanks for reminding me.
