I like movies. I don't have to think or hear
or damn near anything at all. The situations
all have a reason - so straightforward and clear.
Moments you CAN touch
and rewind and touch again
as often as it takes
for a new reality to set in...
and they go out of the way to give the snippets
- at least in the extended versions - to develop
their CHOSEN emotions and DESIRED impacts.
AND they lead us by collective noses
AND rub our senses til we get it RIGHT
til we see it THEIR way and hence AGREE -
and forget its entertainment - right,
used to be called 'Brainwashing' til ad execs
saw they could 'spin' damn near anything... anyway...
Clarity is SUCH a wonderful gift don't ya know.
But,
have you sat on some steps at 2AM and just listened
to a woman or man or a child - cry - talkin bout their
'darkness' cause its what they have
and not what they saw comin
when whatever IT was began. And by CRY - I don't
mean just when tears are streamin and the whole bod
is shakin with shock or reaction - though THAT has
happened a time or ten; I mean when a person
really, really just lets the IT out - open and bare
cause they FOUND an ear that would listen
and NOT rewind them like they were a kodacolor moment.
Love CAN die - by inches
or miles, and people too. And life isn't pretty
Cinderalla dreams of realities come 2AM, or 8AM,
or noon or midnight -
its real - cut-your-heart-out-with-a-dull-spoon
and Sonofabitch expletives...
and heroes are few and far between.
I can fall asleep watching movies.

Chris, I enjoyed this read. A lot. It was prosey but I don't care. Sure things could be moved around cut etc, you know what is best for your poem I suppose.

I enjoyed this read. It was something new. I fall asleep watching movies too.

Kodacolor was for prints.

Ektachrome and kodachrome were for film (slides). You might consider chaging the title... or not. Doesn't ultimately matter.

I wanted to like this. I did like a lot of images, and the slight ramble to it. However, your line breaks frustrated me. Some parts were way too compressed for me to comfortably read along.

Anyway...

I wanted to see some words broken out on to their own line, augmenting the transition. Give the poem a read, and see if the lines break where you pause. If they don't, consider changing them.
