The first car I bought was a "Forty-Nine" Dodge,
With a "straight six" and 3-speed on the post.
My Dodge sounded like a really mean machine,
It sounded fast but really was a boast.

I swapped this car for a "50" Ford-a-lac,
The fastest and the meanest car I've owned.
It was a Custom Ford with Cadillac mill,
It had an air-brake system right in the trunk,
And it was so souped-up it gave me chills!

The body was a "Custom" model by Ford,
With "57" posi-traction rear end.
It needed the air-brakes to make it slow down,
And it's speed could shame a "tornado's" spin!

I never did find out how fast it could go,
The Sheriff checked cause he's a good fellow.
The Sheriff clocked me at "140!"
And the pedal wasn't "on the metal!"

When I got married I got rid of my Ford,
And moved on to other automobiles.
I thought a "family" car would be my style,
But pretty soon I had that "need speed" feel!

In "67" I bought a Dodge Charger,
A "Fast Back" with a "Four-Forty" for speed.
There wasn't many cars that could pass it by,
But somehow it NEVER DID fill my "Need!"

In "1969" I bought a Mustang,
A Blue "Fast-Back" with a "Boss 3 O 2."
It could beat "Baracuda's" and G-T-O's,
But this was somehow disappointing too.

When thinking now I see a Black Ford-a-lac,
The fastest car I had that wasn't "Blown!"
It was just an old car built for "Street racing,"
But the fastest car that I ever owned!!
