People don't seem to understand
what I say or write
how I am
what I do
the ways I use to express me.

They don't look
INTO my words
or behind them
or beyond them
or
add the ones I left unwritten -
between the lines
is an unknown wasteland.

They just don't FEEL
what I feel or felt
as I feel or felt
when I feel or felt
or even after
reading
without giving voice
without inherent emotion
without a clue.

People want INSTANT
comprehension
gratification
recognition -
they want to NOT
be challanged
to have to think
remember
question
or even pause.

What they see
has not ever been
what they got.

Damn...
what they've missed.

what ever you do

never change the way you write.

as a poet

who offers his words to the public, you should strive to make your words and readers connect.

unspoken

who is "they?"

are you certain that THEY have not seen more than you give THEM credit for...

are you alone in your depth of vision, I wonder.

I wonder if your words

unwritten

are instead, hidden.

waiting to blame the seeker for lack of trying to find?

a good poem inspires readers to ask questions

I have asked the same as you

but realize it is not Their responsibility for

wanting to dig into my unspoken meaning

my cloaked reasons my well intended turn of phrase

that drives them to turning the other way

I apologize this comment is more about me than it is about you, but then again, we poets get this way sometimes :)

keep on writing,

someone will understand

the words you do not say

and it will be magic.

first or again

we have to believe this, don't we?
