I used to watch you with adoration,
until you told me to stop.
So now the corners of my eyes
are where my vision lies;
sneaking glimpses
where once long gazes lived.
Casual observances
take the place of deep meaningful looks.
I am constrained
to watching without being seen;
to longing,
without being wanted.
Sitting on the outskirts of desire
looking in.
Wanting to be wanted,
wanting to be needed,
wanting to be desired.
Still trying to smile
while making you feel adored.
