Kissing in the moonlight
Layin’ back on the hood of a ’67 Chevy
Parked in an old cornfield
It’s late September – not quite chilly
A harvest moon
A big, bold, round, lonely face
Peering over the mountain top
Watches with solemn eyes

You’re wearin’ your old leather jacket
That smells so sweet
Of you
Your arm’s wrapped around me

I tip my head back
And look at the stars
Then pour another long, cold sip
Of apple wine
Down my throat

You laugh at the wonder of the night
Gaze into my eyes
And kiss me again
With the taste of wine and
Marlboros on you lips
The crickets are singing their song
Of summer’s ending
You break out into song

What song do you sing tonight Billy?
Sing you
Of passion aching deep and yearning
Of love everlasting?

Or a sad sweet song of fare-thee-well?

Tis Autumn

A clever way of explaining Autumn as it relates to a lover's farewell. Beautiful farm images abound.

Nice piece off a couple's moment;

The only thing that throws this off a bit is the last 8 lines;

There are 7 instances of sing/song/singing and it just seems a tad overdone.

:)

I like this one too, but I think it would benefit from a little bit of "tweaking". A few words are unnecessary, such as, when you refer to the crickets singing..( no need really, for **their song**). Just my opinion of course, but as good as the other 2 were, this one seems as though it was slighted, and it need not be.

I have really enjoyed your work lately, keep up the good job :)
