A Time Piece.

A ticking clock is counting time,
it ticks away each precious second.
It's value to man is so sublime,
by the clock, our life is beckoned.

'Be there on the dot,' is the usual cry,
'I will give you a minute to do that!'
'Get here soon or I'm going to die!'
'He ran the race in four minutes flat!'

You know it took me time to write this ode,
and you, to read this my work!
But, I can stop the clock, go into idle mode,
'Its time you were out of here, you jerk!'

Jack Gates.
