Something about the season has
me melancholy, missing
moments readily taken for granted while they happened.

My breath stains the air like it’s grasping
to last in this specific setting-
Got a good look at the street and found a new chest to
catch a ride in.

I want to disappear into another body too sometimes.
Instead

I play freeze tag with tears I have no business letting fall.
There’s nothing wrong at all,
this time of year just takes its toll on water signs.
