The whispered wind blows by me.
The longing memories.
The happy times fade slowly
upon a gentle breeze.

A heated rush of anger.
A coarse word spoken there.
A dagger to the heart
was love no longer shared.

With each step he took
With every breath released
With all my love and sorrow
his feelings they did cease.

So now I go on living
So far away from him
So deep within depression
not knowing how to swim.

Come back to me I whisper.
Come and set me free.
Come over by the water
if just to rescue me.

god...

...you've hit the mark on this one! In so few words, you've foretold an inevitable ending to such happy times...and one feels there's no rescue available. This will be the one that haunts me the most...
