Alone, vulnerable, I come to you
My eyes still dripping with unending tears
I wonder what my fate is coming to
Thinking, dwelling on my unfounded fears

You gently carry me inside your room
I wonder why you care for me at all
My own self-doubt, my own self-loathing loom
My eyes stay transfixed on the bedroom wall

You lay me down carefully on the bed
Wrap your arms around me, holding me tight
You quietly bend down to kiss my head
You softly tell me, "It will be alright."

I look up at you, my eyes still crying
Try to believe, but my soul is dying.
