The past is dark
Filled with pain and hurt
You can't see the sun
While you're stuck in the dirt.

Heart broken, torn apart by fear
Full of anger and rage
Feelings of vengeance flood you,
You're caught in a cage.

Trust in love, love that is pure and deep
Lean on God, He'll pull you through,
And my love I give, pure and honest
Opening your eyes, and hopefully your heart too.
