I was once your angel

Now I live in chains

Chains that bind and restrict

And make me not me anymore.

Once a beauty

Loving, full of compassion and hope

When the storms hit

I have become hopeless and torn.

I used to be yours

Now I am not even my own

I wander in darkness and in confusion

Trying to fill the void of your love.

Once..........I was your angel

You loved me

You held me

I was yours.

Once............my love for you

Radiated like beams from within

Now this coldness and bitterness

Steals any light that tries to enter.

I want to be your angel

I want to feel your love

I need you more than I ever have

But I can not tell you.

See to let you know

Is admitting that I am weak

That I can not care for myself

In this frustrating life.

But I need you

The truth is......I have always needed you

But my lips won't utter it

My voice....it will not say it.

Will you ever know

The love I miss

The way we once were

When I was once...........YOUR ANGEL.
