Realization hits like a rock.
Nothing is as it seems.
What once was,
Is now gone.

The pain of the past,
Settles in at last.
Tears stream,
As memories roll.

With words and hand,
The pain was given.
Constant verbal torment,
Raping and beating.

Flinching,
Inside and out.
Pain from the thought,
Of just one touch.

Realization hits again.
No longer there.
With each soft curve,
Each tender kiss.

The time is now,
No other place.
Live long laugh enough,
Love much.

~~

The past catches up to the present; that which you'd been avoiding's no longer avoidable. Suffer through the pain and work toward the future.

Love of life...

Realization's shock ~ jolted as you realize Nothing is as it seems. Live long, laugh much, and love much. Wise words...

I seem to feel a faint breeze of melancholy in the wind with this poem...
