Ring, Telephone, Ring!
By Jack Gates

The phone is ringing, you are sitting on the loo!
You have been waiting for hours for the call, it's true.
After a hard day you have just stepped into the bath,
dripping water everywhere and you are boiling with wrath!

You're engrossed in your favourite soap, timing is amazing,
its the third call this week to sell you double-glazing.
What really raises the blood pressure, has you seething,
is the call you dread the most, the sound of heavy breathing.

Don't know why I am bitching, the telephone is really a boon,
it is possible now to talk to someone residing on the moon.
So, if the guy on the media tells you, 'It pays to talk!'
Switch him off. Go out! It is healthier to go for a walk.
