delusional
was a one-inch window
though paranoia scrabbled at the edges
like some long-nailed hairless and blind rat.

this room is full of mirrors
and skin is pockets of cancer like eggs
waiting to be born. every pill is oblong,
every oblong is pink. the moon is a pill
swallowed and regurgitated.

stigmata bleeds itself out in wax crayons
down the rivulet
that races from head to spine. indigo
and brown bruises like tickling fingers.
there was a pattern to be deciphered
but the formula was a lost prescription.

floors will be washed
still feet dirty.
