I took your hand once, and held it to my cheek.
I dreamed a dream once, and it never came to be.
I traveled down the road once, just so I could see.
I put my arms up to heaven, just to ask, "Why?"

I say your name out loud, just to hear the sound.
I look at your picture, and I feel as if I'm bound.
I close my eyes and think, just wanting you around.
I threw hope away, because we will never be.

I can't see tomorrow, I just don't understand.
I never lose this sadness, just a haunted man.
I will keep on living, if I find that I can.
I pushed away the world, just because you aren't in mine.
