I watch my shadow stretch before me,
The only mimicry I allow;
To be myself, I walk alone,
I get through the days and don't know how.
I feel like a ghost, lost and wandering,
Silent and unseen as I pass,
Along these echoing hallowed halls,
Down these crowded concrete paths.
And like a spirit, I am trapped here,
My soul within me crying for release;
I bide my time in my own prison,
My memories of you giving me peace.

A well done piece of life after a traumatic event. Living yet not alive; trapped in a place that stirs memories.

Love the mood of this poem.Enjoyed reading it. Good idea of feeling trapped like a ghost.
