Click hereI am a poet and I care not
What some may think
I write, nay, express
I emote and I bleed
Delving within, I seek
All the pain and greed
Heartache may dwell
In a jocular refrain
Slipping through self
I poke in dark corners
Only just avoiding
The traps that I’ve set
Lighting a torch of discovery
Wondering what I’ll uncover
Ever, am I surprised
By the treasures I find
There are jewels, I believe
Though, dusty they be
Hidden well in my depths
Secreted, safely, from all
When you read what I say
I’m giving you license
To breathe the exhalations
Of my mind and my soul
Will you understand
What I try to convey
Sometimes, yes, sometimes
I think that you do
Oh dear, I've been neglecting you of late. Very nice introspective look at the workings of a poet's mind.
nice write (~_~) I think this poem relays what a lot of folks feel.
