If you were told today
you had a month to live,
would you change
what you do,
or remain as is?
Would the loss
of control
fill you with fear,
or posses you anew?
Would you give
all you possess,
things that would
soon be gone?
Would you change
to feel things,
you had long since
given up on?
Would you quit
your job?
Would you drive
without fear?
Would you sing,
even if you’re off key?
Would you dance
like a fool?
Would you laugh
till you cried?
Would you pity yourself?
Would you shrivel inside?
Would you run to the wind,
or guard your face instead?
Would you live freely,
knowing soon you’re dead?
Would you glorify life,
or pity your short stay?
Would you settle scores,
or forgive and forget?
Would you change anything
that you are doing now?
If you were told today
you had a month to live?
