There came a woman
     Into the house
     And life was … changed

There came a woman
     Into the house
     And love was … rearranged

There left a woman
     From the house
     And life was … changed

This one deserves a melody

This poem just plays in my ears like a happy and sad folk song. It deserves to be sung along with a melody of its own. Following my musings on your poem.

A new woman comes

When a new woman comes into your home

She also moves into your heart.

Everything changes of course.

The woman you already had in your heart,

You remembered with anger,

With love or with pain,

Or with some of them all.

She leaves you then.

It may be sad, maybe

A happy event, maybe both.

She will be remembered,

But your heart is now open

For the woman

Who just moved into your home.
